About Sarah French
Sarah French graduated from the University of Vermont with a degree in Studio Art. After a successful career in publishing in NYC (mostly with Harper's Bazaar), she moved with her family to Rowayton, CT where she began her career as a painter by first taking courses at the Rowayton Art Center followed by the Silvermine School of Art in New Canaan, Ct.
Along with a partner, she created a company "RIO", that combined painting and wood collage applied to adult and children's furniture. Over the years, she has emerged as a landscape painter who paints mostly on location. Recently she has been experimenting with wood assemblages and encaustic. She exhibits her paintings locally and on Martha's Vineyard. Sarah also teaches children in an after-school art program in Rowayton.
